Providing an edge to Future Leaders: The Idiosyncratic Prof Anuja Kimatrai
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
Though Rudyard Kipling penned these lines for his son to follow. I am amazed that I know someone who leads by example and is an epitome of these lines. She has worked with Tatas, She is renowned and respected advertising stalwart, she is an entrepreneur, she is incredibly creative, she is indomitable, she can wear all these hats yet be humble and rooted, To my mind, her life is all about will and Grace. The will to impart knowledge and the grace to care and spread joy and constantly giving fodder to young minds craving for more. She is radiant, she is my teacher Professor Anuja Kimatrai.
How to ensure students attend all lectures?
For Prof Anuja it is a cake walk. She will create a creative image with lecture info and with all the colours which is enough to get us excited. To my mind, everything she does is "call to action." One can just follow with enthusiasm.
How to make every lecture is interesting?
Prof Anuja is always prepared. I admire her spontaneous thinking and I respect the fact that she always has a backup plan. She is extremely quick at making choices. She is always prepared with her presentations which are incredibly creative with visuals and with her personal anecdotes which make it relatable and easy to understand. We love the fact that she is always ready with relevant examples to help us understand better.
Making every student think
She will ensure everyone participates in her lecture. She will walk around and make the lecture interactive but most importantly she will have her occasional worksheets to express ourselves. She will make each one of us think and push our boundaries and express ourselves. She can create magic and open up the world of endless possibilities for us. That's what she does in her every class.
Her interest in every student
I am highly impressed with her ability to deal differently with different kind of students. She exactly knows how to deal with all of us because the efforts she takes all the time to know us. She observes us, she questions us, she mentors all of us. She draws her strategy with our feedback that's a great quality.
Creative Educationist
She is a trailblazer. She is not a teacher by profession but she certainly has redefined teaching. After being taught by Anuja Ma'am, to my mind teaching is all about applying and sharing your skills and lessons. Her background in advertising enables her to make everything exciting. She sees the world through her creative lenses adding colours to mundane things and our lives by making it colourful and enriching with life lessons and strong values.
The Idiosyncratic Professor Anuja
The reason why I regard her Idiosyncratic because she is unique. Apart from all the efforts, she takes to make our learning fun and enriching. She is extremely professional and an incredibly wonderful human. I have learned many life lessons from her and something that will always be cherished is her ability to think different always, to be creative and give her 100 per cent in everything that she does and doing it with complete dedication. What inspires me the most is the love for her work. One can see in her eyes when she delivers her lectures. A compact, personable woman of grace, values, intellect, there is an evenness about her, a self-assurance about her, a consistent centre of gravity about the way she moves in the world.
As William Arthur Ward once said:
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.
